Juveniles

47 rue de Richelieu, 75001 Paris

Juveniles is one of those Paris wine bars that feels less like a restaurant and more like someone’s fiercely loved home kitchen, if that someone had impeccable taste, a cellar that borders on obsessive, and a habit of feeding you far better than you deserve.

The plates are small, but eat like meals as far as flavor goes. With wall to wall wine shelves, obviously pairing is the play at this place. Having celery soup with mussels? They have a Chablis for it. Leaning towards Guinea hen and whipped potatoes? There’s a burgundy with your name on it. The combinations are all so good that you even overlook the absolutely horrifically unforgivable lighting.
